Complete finishing systems
WHAT
Due to former inconsistent riveting, we were approached to improve the process to secure a special roller to a bracket to make up a carrier assembly for a paint conveyor. The criteria for finished work piece: the finish had to be below flush.
WHY
This consisted to press a serrated bush into a hole in the bracket. Then with the spacer and rollers were fitted to finish the assembly. The current process was firstly to use a hammer to secure the serrated bush into the hole. Then a press to flare the rivet out. This caused deformation of the bracket when the serrated bush was inserted, and the rivet was being split when being flared.
HOW
Due to budget restraint, we supplied a hand aided pneumatic press for the assembly of the serrated bush and an SN220 machine to form the rivet to secure the roller. We were also asked to supply the complete turn- key solution by supplying location tooling for the assembly.
